Okay, I will give you a picture, can any one guess how we did this?
Thanks for your comments. It is spin art. I also showed them how to splash paint to add colors to the finished spin art. Kids were super excited and Chula kept saying, “Amma you are doing just like Jackson Pollack”. I have a feeling that this splashing will come back to bite me.

Oh … just saw the pics of Swirl and Spin art … looks similar.
Whatever the technique, the outcome is beautiful and I am sure the girls had a blast doing it!

My guess was – just throw paint on paper and let it dry. But spinning sounds more decent.

Read your post yesterday afternoon. Went to office summer picnic yesterday evening and found the secret behind your art.
They had this specially made bucket with spinning fan (electrical one) . I almost missed this little set up for kids but was curious to know what a 15 month old was doing pouring paints into a bucket.
The salad spinner is a clever and safe alternative/idea. I spent my 6th grade summers painting spray art using tooth brush and water color paints. Have you tried that technique? If you haven’t try it. You can cut images on a white paper and use both cut out and the paper (negative and positive) to form art.
Another fun art is to a coat a white paper with different colors of crayon, then covering the whole colored sheet with black crayon color. Then use any sharp object like pencil or knitting needle to create any art . The bright colors comes through and will like a professional art piece.

UTBT SAYS: I do spray painting and I love it. I tried it with the girls a year back and it was disaster. I had to clean the whole living room. So no spray painting for them for another two years.
The scratch art idea is marvelous. For the longest time I had my eye on this. I would love to create my own. Thanks for the suggestion.
