Yesterday evening, while Chula was writing a poem (* don’t ask *), Mieja and I were rolling on the bed and having a conversation, which lead to an interview. I jumped right ahead, proper journalist style with pen and paper. She played along with her trademark, ‘Um…..um…..um’ and checked ever so frequently, ‘Did you write that down?’, ‘Did I say four already?’, ‘Make sure you get the right spelling, okay?’
Name four of your favorite activities
(If you ask me, dropping coins has to figure some where in this list. Electronics items have been unsuspecting casualties for her coin dropping. Things that have been damaged include, but not limited to CD player in car, music keyboard, slot for memory card in appa’s laptop.)
Name four of your favorite books.
Name four of your favorite foods
(Except for plain rice, the other things were news to me.)
Name four of your favorite TV shows
Name four of your favorite colors
Name four of your favorite songs
Name four of your favorite games
Name four of your favorite animals
Name four of your favorite things to do with appa and amma
Name four of your favorite things to do with akka

A four year old knows all those board games?? Wow! maybe Na and she should meet so that Na can learn some of these 🙂
UTBT SAYS: She was “playing” as young as three years. We are fluid with the game rules to some extent. She does gumbaloda govinda and when she her interest evaporates, we let her have fun. The main attraction for her in Hi-Ho Cherrio is, after the game, she mixes all the fruits and pretend plays that she is making fruit smoothies for us. So there is a different thing, totally unconnected with the game, that attracts her. Fridays are game nights and all the adults in the house sit down after an early dinner and we play kiddie games as a family.
so does her lunch 2morrow has broco, keerai an cauliflower? shdn’t you treat her with her favorites for this lovely interview :-))
UTBT SAYS: Her so-called favorites will come back to my face 🙂
M really seems to like healthy food !! Also see a strong preference for Kandaswamy music 😉
Hope we can get a guest post from C & M sometime
UTBT SAYS: Strong preference for Kandaswamy – yes. But from my experience her favorite foods are plain white rice, ghee, cupcake frosting(no chocolate frosting), sprinkles and jelly beans. She is okay with plain pasta, yogurt, carrots, okra and oranges. If the stars align properly she will ask for some sambar to be mixed with the plain rice. I dnot know what prompted her to say keerai of all things!!
smiling all the way!
and kandaswamy music (assumng its a tam movie) seems quite high up there – must check it out!
UTBT SAYS: Yes, it is a tam movie. But it is not check worthy. The husband introduced it to them and I am not very happy about it. If looks could kill, he would be dead multiple times by now. The kids think it is just a music, they are not aware of a visual, so I am kind of okay.
OK another reference to Kandaswamy music …. so tempted to listen to it. I would guess its fast foot tapping numbers … do kids like slow music ??
Only healthy food “mentioned” , aren’t you proud?
Hope you plan on interviewing the older one too …. she might surprise you as well 🙂
UTBT SAYS: Yes, fast numbers in Kandaswamy. Thinking about it they do like some slow numbers in devotional songs.
You are right, I must be proud that she at least considers the vegetable kind. My mom being here is turning out to be a big plus. My mom has loooong hair and she tells the girls that their hair will also grow long only if they eat vegetables.
She can swim? At four? Am impressed! And LOL at the ‘healthy food’ and the actual list of her favourites mentioned in your comment.
UTBT SAYS: Sandhya , swimming is another scam like her healthy food list 🙂
We have a mini pool(3 feet diameter) and this being summer vacation, I place it on the lawn. The girls fill it with water and sit in it and splash around. They go between the splashing – side walk chalk – bubbles – plucking flowers and back to the pool. In a real pool, they will be holding on to me like a baby chimpanzee.
@C’s A: I guess they also have moods – like sometimes we prefer fast music, sometimes slow – same with them. Thats why I find with my kids.
UTBT SAYS: At home the preference is mostly fast numbers. If it is slow music, it has to be be by their preferred few vocalists.
Cute! Lol at kandasamy.. now I know what to gift them the next time! 😀
If you were to ask me these questions, I might ask you for 24 hrs to come up with answers. I am glad she could tell you 4 for each question! (the scam part, I’ll choose to ignore). Btw.. why 4? not 5? And do we get to read C’s poem?
UTBT SAYS: If you gift something related to Kandaswamy, the dad will probably monopolize it 🙂
Four things from a four year old. That is why four.
C’s poem?? Do you realize that you are over inflating my ego here 🙂
hmmm..maybe I should start this friday tradition at home also!
