It was business as usual at work. We had just put the younger children for their AM nap, the older ones were engaged in work. The loud noise made me think that there was action going on in the elementary upstairs. But it dawned on me with the sudden movement. Earthquake.
We did the usual emergency routine and thankfully we were able to return to the usual routine, if you could call it usual and go on about your routine.
4.1 is relatively small. Probably mother Earth just sighed, stretched or sniffed when compared to the wrath she has unleashed in many places. But something being with children changes the whole deal. Mind being a monkey jumps and leaps and leads you to places where you donโt want to be. Children, though they do not have enough life experiences to fear the what if, are pretty acute on latching on to adult emotions. For the rest of the day they were a bit off put.
I am with Chula and Mieja in the same campus. So a quick peak through the window was a HUGE blessing. I did not fear their safety, for they are in the best possible care. But just their smiling faces soothed me, chasing all the unspoken fears. As soon as I could, I called R and we touched base on our familyโs emergency routine. He said, โI will come and get you and the kids.โ And we had a good laugh.

Good that you and your family are safe! Thank God for his blessings ๐
UTBT SAYS: Thanks.
BP was with kids when it happened … he immediately called me to check on me and thats it. We forgot about it after that ๐
UTBT SAYS: So do you guys have an emergency meeting routine? If not, I strongly urge you to make one. All 4 of you are in 4 different places, assuming phone lines and cell phones are down, who is going to pick up whom and where will you met? Right after an emergency training at school, we sketched out that we will meet at my school during school hrs and in our library parking lot during non school hrs.
Good to know that you guys are safe and sound. Thanks for checking in and take care. I hope you have all the emergency boxes and such ready.
UTBT SAYS: Thanks. We have admitted the possibility of an earthquake in to our reality only up to formulating a meeting plan. We do not have our kits. Must put something together. Sigh
I felt it in office yest. Mailed the husband. Didn’t even think abt the daughter… bad mother, I know!
UTBT SAYS: Oh come on. You are doing just right.
Glad that it was a small one. We did not feel it at all , even though I work/live some 20 miles from the where it was felt…
UTBT SAYS: That happens on what you were doing at that time and the building you were in etc I believe.
Oh boy. That’s scary…I’m just glad to hear you’re ok and it was nothing major..
UTBT SAYS: Yes, nothing scary.
We are meeting at your house if it is during the working day since your house is the middle from my work and his! ๐ I also have planned a walking route from my work to yours in case roads are damaged.. he he he..
UTBT SAYS: Amma, Paranoid Parameshwari, I am not worried abt you. You would probably have emergency plan for every day work to home routine.
