See I simply cannot resist 🙂

And the clue is……
Updated to add:
The answer is: THE GREAT INDIAN NOVEL by SHASHI THAROOR
The Print Lover nailed it. She says “Vyasa + Pillaiyar = Mahabaratha Twitter bird -> Shashi Tharoor?” And exactimo!
I have read Mahabaratha by many different authors and that was instrumental in me picking up this book. It took me a few pages to understand the allegory, but I was proud and pleased as plum that I did it all by myself without running to Wikipedia. Though I had to take a break from it I found it compelling enough to return to it. So far a good read.

Hm, this one is simple- Mahabharata…but the least you could’ve done it NOT named the jpg mbharatGaneshaVyasaSmall2.jpg 😀
Simple.. Mahabharatha!
Altoid, Yaadayaada, MAHABRATHA – Is that your final answer?
uh-oh.. does the birdie have some significance. OK, if it is not mahabharatha, u have lost me. since i am so bad at solving puzzles/clues
Keep it coming peeps. Title, author, final answer and you are done.
Vyasa’s Mahabharata seems to be the obvious guess… or are we missing something? I looked at this and thought, ‘It can’t be that simple’ …
I am with Altoid and YaadaYaada.. it is indeed Mahabharatha. 🙂
There is something about that bird… I have read some story long ago about a bird that listened to vyasa’s narration of the mahabharatha and still had a lot of questions. I don’t remember the details tho’… I should ask my sister – she’s the one who knows mythology better in our family!
Whats the twitter bird doing? Hmm… I would ve guessed that you are reading the “epicretold” tweet by tweet thingy but you say book, huh? Ok I ll go for the Tulika book – Vyasas Mahabharatha. But the bird is still bothering me. ok what the heck! kaasaa panamaa? thats my final answer, the Tulika book.
OMG, I did not account for Boo, THE puzzle buster of the century.
Reva, cold, cold, cold.
Uma, keep the gears turning.
Ok, San final answer?
mbharatGaneshaVyasaSm
1. Bird: Paravai
2. Veda Vyasa: Muni aka Munivar
3. Pillayaar: Kozhakattai
1+2+3=Paravai Muniamma vin 108 Kozhakattai recipes!
Yes, final answer. 🙂
Vyasa + Pillaiyar = Mahabaratha
Twitter bird -> Shashi Tharoor? 😀
So combining both, my answer is “The Great Indian Novel” by Shashi Tharoor. Haven’t read the book but I know it talks about Mahabaratha.
@ Paravai Muniamma vin 108 Kozhakattai recipes! ROFL!!
ha ha.. Me.. you are funny!
I like TPL’s answer.. and yes, I was totally off – the story I was talking about is Vyasa’s disciple Jaimini talking to 4 birds about questions he had on the scriptures.
OK. Now I know the answer. Based on what I read on the comments and the book I know you were reading! 🙂
YY – this is cheating!! utbt – should nt there be a clause that people who live near you should nt be participating? yes, thats right! naan win pannalai naa kooda paravaaillai. aanaa vera yaarum win pannida koodadhu!!! 😉

The Print Lover makes a compelling arguement
The Print Lover, clap, clap, clap.
Me, seriously you deserve the most out of the box thinking award or something like that 🙂
Of course the bird has a significance. Can any one think of Twitter without Tharoor popping in their minds 🙂
Boo, I thought that you would break it and when you said epic retold, it was so close. But poor you, wouldn’t have accounted for me putting the book down and rediscovering it again.
Thanks a bunch for being such good sport folks.
yay! Thanks utbt.
And for a prize, can I get Paravai Muniamma’s book? 😛
UTBT SAYS: TPL, even better, Me is going to speed mail you 108 kozhukattais. 😛
Congrats, TPL! LOL at Utbt giving you “halwa” in the form of kozhukattais! 😉
Congrats TPL!!! Yes the bird bothered me, but still wouldn’t have guessed!
