   Totally ROTFL :-))). Haaa….haaaa…shraddha used to sing that song too ..but not correctly and I would say “Phew…Thank God for that” !!

   totally lol!! my elder one also picked up this song (fortunately not the correct words) from her school, so i guess the “indian culture” is alive here too 🙂

   OMG! Totally howlarious.

   I used to get asked that question all the time too and my simple answer that now that India has progressed so much, we would like to be with our family while enjoying a good job doesn’t cut it. It has to be something more bigger and better of a reason 🙂

   UTBT SAYS: People are just inquisitive and ultimately come up with an understanding of what they subconsciously believe in. To be frank, I find the culture here quite alarming and feel that the things the children are exposed to in US were limited and could be moderated by me. Here, some days there is total chaos.

   UTBT SAYS: I went huh?! after I heard her sing it! The older one hasn’t heard the song. The younger one does not know what letter stands for what sound. It was rather funny to see how the one that cannot spell dictated the song to the one that does not know the song!

    When we moved first, my 2 year old couldn’t stop singing ‘dhoom machale chale chale (don’t ask me abt the ‘chale’ part…that was how she heard it!) and my 5 year old danced for Om Shanti om (religious??;)…) From there to Sheela ki jawani in 5 years is hmmm….food (jilebi??) for thought! Why do you think I changed Sam’s second language to Sanskrit even before she grasped Hindi;)

    Do you think changing the language has any effect on Sheila coming home or the children still sing it without understanding the meaning?

    Well, don’t be alarmed! Even I don’t know what I meant!! It used to in Yahoo messenger audibles toolbar. For whatever reason, seeing the M & C’s collaborative writing, made me think of that!! Blame it on hectic work schedule! No social interaction and get this not much TV. 🙁

    p.s.: Son’s stuck on ‘pani vizhum malar vanum’ – Tamil song, old Tamil song to some. Had to find him something else to replace the stuck song – was frantically trying to replace it with the FIFA song! Yenuhathunaani….HAHAHA!
